The training landscape is evolving, and False Bay TVET College is at the forefront, recognizing that the traditional school product is not the only productive means of learning. Their NCV programmes are created for students who would like to commence their journey toward a satisfying job early on.
CareersPortal.co.za had a chat with the Head of Division for Engineering Studies at False Bay College, about their range of courses.
False Bay's Engineering NCV programmes are available at two campuses: Westlake Campus and Khayelitsha Campus. These Engineering programmes are for a three-year period.

NCV Engineering Course Entry Prerequisites
These programs begin at NCV level two as well as bare minimum necessity would then be Grade 9 certificate with a pass in Arithmetic.
As soon as the student finishes NCVLevel two, they would then have attained a grade ten certificate. NCV Level three would be grade 11 and NCV Level 4 is grade twelve.
NCV Level 4 is at the exit level, remaining equivalent to a Countrywide Senior Certificate (NSC).
Grade 9 is on NQF level one. Our NCV programmes start NCV level 2 which happens to be equivalent to an NQF level 2.
On which kind of students are suited to these programmes, they say that the world is acknowledging that traditional schooling read more is not really always the one way of getting an artisan or turning into skilled therefore if a student knows from an early age what their interests are, the NCV programme is in fact properly suited for that student.
False Bay TVET College will assist the student to become qualified in his field of interest. Students who want to become entrepreneurs will also have access to their Centre of Entrepreneurship on the Westlake Campus.
